  Some pretty blatant stuff coming up in bookstudy

  so i was reading ahead in the bookstudy book "bearing thorough witness" about god's kingdom, and i came upon some shockingly direct damage control on behalf of the gb in the material for the upcoming weeks.. on page 104: what a privilege it is to be instructed and molded by our patient and kind heavenly father!

  the results are always good and always to our advantage.

  so let us never proudly push ahead with our own ideas or react negatively to organizational changes or to adjusted explanations of certain scriptures.

  NVR2L8 I LOVE the analogy of the two smoke detectors. The Borg false "alarm" goes off in 1874, 1879, 1914, 1915, 1918, 1925, 1975 and they say, "SEE? Our alarm system WORKS!" Any normal homeowner would have thrown the thing out after the first couple false alarms.

  As for whether this is just normal Watchtower GB propaganda, the significance of this stuff is that it isn't a random paragraph in a Watchtower article praising the GB - which there always has been and still is plenty of. This is an ENTIRE BOOK dedicated to establishing the Borg leadership as descending in a direct line from first century Christianity. It's the most audacious attempt at doing such a thing that they've ever done.

  Before genetic sequencing there *might* have been some valid debate. Now there is none. Evolution is real. Read about it. Learn it. Deal with its repercussions in a rational way. People who don't "believe in" evolution, do not understand evolution.

  "The Magic of Reality" is Richard Dawkins' latest book. It is illustrated by Dave McKean (in addition to many photos, charts, and graphs). It is written so that people approximately age 12 and up can understand the wonders of the natural world. In other words, it is written at around the upper level of Watchtower literature. Engaging and clearly stated. I highly recommend it. (It's a $30 book but you can get it online for just over half that.)

  the more i research this particular subject, the more flip-flops i uncover.

  it seems the fds cant even make up their minds regarding what happened in 1918 (or should i say 1919?).

  I never knew that they were have said to fail the inspection in the Borg lit. That's fascinating.

  As for the time period of inspection, I was under the notion that it begain in early 1918 (I forget the supposed date) and ran for 18 months - ending in late 1919. So either year could be used depending on whether you're talking about when the inspection began or when it was completed.

  Regardless, there is no evidence any inspection ever happened and if it did, there is an equal dearth of evidence that the Watchtower was chosen as faithful and discreet and then appointed over all his belongings. AND, there isn't any evidence that YOU or I are supposed to be considered "belongings" OR that Matthew 24:45 is even a prophecy.

  It's a big pile of bullshit.

  I do not understand the above statement - if the society instructed the elders and others to obtain the cards, then why is this lawsuit still going on?

  Is the Watchtower Society trying to get out of having them obtain the cards now?

  Because it is a criminal trial, not a lawsuit. The Borg broke the law continually for several years. Just because they are complying NOW doesn't mean the case should get dropped. That would be like a speeder getting pulled over and telling the officer, "But officer, my car isn't even MOVING, how can you cite me for speeding?!?" The law has already been broken. Now it's time to face the music.
